Hey everyone & happy almost New Year! I know that I'm speaking for a lot of people when I say that I am SO excited to be done with my year and get into 2021 where we will hopefully start going back to normal! My internet friend Megan over at Operation Happiness did a blog post on things she learned, accomplished, and experienced in 2020, and I thought it was such a cute idea so I'm stealing it! In all seriousness, go read her post HERE and follow her on Instagram @operationhappinessblog. She's literally the cutest & most positive human. In an effort to look on the bright side of this year, here's a roundup of my happy moments of 2020.

Today for Twelve Days of Christmas I'm sharing my winter skincare routine! I have sensitive, acne-prone skin, but I also get dry skin in the winter, so it's a STRUGGLE! These products work well for me, but just know that everyone has unique skin and you might not get the same results that I did. That being said, I can't wait to share my favorites with you!

Sorority recruitment is one of the activities that I was most excited for heading into college. I knew it would give me the chance to meet a bunch of new friends and possibly find a sisterhood for life. However, the reality of my recruitment experience looked bleaker each week as our council pushed back recruitment with the hope of some in-person events and then went completely online. However, this did not make me any less excited for this experience! A lot of people I know had very different experiences than I did this year, but this is my completely online sorority recruitment experience! Spoiler alert: the ending is SO happy!
Before we get started, let me define a few terms that you might be confused by if you've never been through recruitment. Panhellenic: Panhellenic, formally known as the National Panhellenic Conference, is the national umbrella organization for 26 sororities. There are other Greek councils, but this is the one I went through recruitment for! PNM: a PNM, or Potential New Member, is the term used to describe all the ladies going through recruitment. Rho Gamma: a recruitment counselor, or Rho Gammas as we call them at TCU, is a woman who disaffiliates from her sorority during recruitment so that she can lead a small group of PNMS and help them through the process without bias! Shoutout to my RG, Katie. I seriously do not know what I would have done without her. Read on to hear about my experience!!
As I'm writing this, it's a week before I leave for college at my dream school. The end of my senior year has been absolutely positively crazy and nothing at ALL like I expected, but honestly, I'm ready to move on.
âAs my last year of school in my hometown is coming to a close, Iâve been doing a lot of reflecting. I feel an overwhelming amount of gratitude. Iâm grateful for the friends who have been there for me. Iâm grateful for the people who donât like me-- thank you for being honest. Iâm grateful for people who used to be friends but who went separate ways. Iâm grateful for all of my teachers and club sponsors and overall supporters. Iâm grateful for my family. Iâm grateful for the opportunities Iâve had, and Iâm grateful to be attending my dream school this fall. Most of all, Iâm grateful for everything Iâve learned that Iâm taking with me-- from in the classroom and out.
